Volgens minister van Justitie Stefaan De Clerck (CD&V) is het niet efficiënt om de capaciteit te beperken.
Wellicht gaat de bouw van de instelling naast het Burchtse Weel, op het terrein naast de vroegere Hoge Zeevaartschool, nog dit jaar van start. Over twee jaar moet het complex klaar zijn.
