Een van de acht kandidaten bij de presidentsverkiezingen in Armenië is in de hoofdstad Jerevan neergeschoten. Dat meldt het Russische persbureau Itar-Tass op basis van lokale media. De 64-jarige Paruir Airikian werd donderdagavond gewond naar een ziekenhuis gebracht. De gezondheidstoestand van de politicus is voorlopig onduidelijk.
Volgens Itar-Tass overschaduwt de aanslag de tot dusver rustige verkiezingsstrijd in Armenië.
