Op de Canarische eilanden werden de luchthavens Tenerife-Noord, Tenerife-Zuid, La Palma en La Gomera gesloten vanaf 5 uur plaatselijke tijd (6 uur in België).
Sinds 6 uur dinsdagochtend gingen ook de luchthavens van Jerez, Sevilla en Badajoz in het zuiden van Spanje dicht.
Het is nog niet duidelijk wanneer de luchthavens weer opengaan.
