De aswolk uit Chili zorgt nog altijd voor heel wat hinder voor het vliegverkeer in Argentinië en Uruguay. Ook in Australië zijn er nog altijd problemen.
Meerdere luchtvaartmaatschappijen annuleerden zondagavond alle vluchten vanop de luchthavens van de Argentijnse hoofdstad Buenos Aires aangezien de wind de aswolk in het weekend opnieuw naar de metropool dreef.
Ook in Uruguay moesten opnieuw heel wat vluchten aan de grond blijven.
In Australië moest luchtvaartmaatschapppij Qantas maandag andermaal vluchten aflasten. Andere luchtvaartmaatschappijen in Australië en Nieuw-Zeeland besloten te blijven vliegen.
