De A960 Godetia moet voor de Afrikaanse westkust Amerikaanse instructeurs en ook eigen personeel trainen in de strijd tegen piraterij, mensensmokkel en illegale visvangst.
Er bevindt zich ook 35 ton hulpgoederen aan boord, bestemd voor Gambia, Congo, Senegal en Benin. De goederen zijn afkomstig van niet-gouvernementele organisaties (ngo) en stad Oostende, de peterstad van het schip.
Op 9 april wordt de A960 Godetia terug in Zeebrugge verwacht.
