Afgelopen nacht is de BOB-campagne officieel van start gegaan, met alcocholcontroles in onder meer Limburg, West- en Oost-Vlaanderen en Antwerpen. De politie is van plan om dit jaar 50.000 bestuurders meer te controleren dan vorig jaar. In totaal zouden er zo 250.000 alcoholtests worden afgenomen.
De BOB-campagne loopt tot 24 januari, acht dagen langer dan vorig jaar. Toen blies 3,3 procent van de chauffeurs positief.
