Bij breast ironing (letterlijk: borstenstrijken) worden gloeiend hete stenen tegen de borsten van meisjes gedrukt, "om hen te doen stoppen met groeien".
Het resultaat zijn lelijke brandwonden en littekens. Volgens de moeders van de meisjes is dit de enige manier om opdringerige mannen af te schrikken.
