De brand werd opgemerkt rond 19 uur. Volgens de eerste gegevens zouden hoogspanningskabels in de koker tussen de stations Louise en Naamse Poort vuur gevat hebben. Dat meldt de Franstalige zender RTBF.
De MIVB heeft vervangbussen ingelegd tussen de Naamse Poort en Troon.
