De opening stond in teken van het Chinese Nieuwjaar dat zondag is begonnen. Singapore hoopt meer dan zeventien miljoen gokkers per jaar te lokken. Zo wil de stadstaat zijn economie minder afhankelijk maken van industrie.
De ontwikkelaars hopen in april al een tweede casino te openen.
