Steeds meer politici lijken in Nederland af te haken voor de verkiezingen. Ook Van Geels partijgenoot en minister van Verkeer Camiel Eurlings zei eerder al af.
Bij de Partij van de Arbeid (PvdA) besloten fractievoorzitster Agnes Kant en frontman Wouter Bos niet mee te doen.
