Een Amerikaanse non wordt ervan verdacht 850.000 dollar (bijna 650.000 euro) te hebben verduisterd. De 62-jarige vrouw stond bekend om haar uitstapjes naar de gokstad Atlantic City.
De kloosterzuster zou bij het Iona College in de staat New York valse rekeningen hebben ingediend om haar persoonlijke uitgaven te kunnen dekken. Ze was daar adjunct-hoofd financiën.
Op die manier zou de non, bekend als 'Sister Susie', van 1999 tot 2009 zowat 850.000 dollar hebben verduisterd. De vrouw riskeert tot tien jaar cel.
