Het meisje werd vrijdag opgenomen in het ziekenhuis met een bacteriële meningitis. De ouders, broer en zus van het meisje krijgen preventief antibiotica.
De tiener liep school aan het Technisch Instituut Heilige familie in Brugge. Haar klasgenoten en hun ouders werden vrijdag al verwittigd, maar moeten geen medicatie nemen.
