Het 20-jarige slachtoffer knalde in de Doornestraat tegen een boom. Een brandweerkorps moest de automobilist uit het wrak bevrijden omdat ie gekneld zat.
De twintiger werd nog naar het ziekenhuis overgebracht, maar daar bezweek hij aan zijn verwondingen.
De Doornestraat was twee uur lang afgesloten.
