Het Afrikaanse land zal dan 50 jaar onafhankelijk zijn en plant hiervoor een grote viering. Of de Koning op deze uitnodiging zal ingaan is nog niet bekend.
De relatie tussen België en Congo zit al een tijdje scheef sinds Europees Commissaris Karel De Gucht zich negatief uitliet over de voormalige kolonie van ons land.
