Opvallend beeld tijdens het eerste 'Urbi et Orbi' van de nieuwe paus Franciscus I op het Sint-Pietersplein in Rome: kardinaal Godfried Danneels mocht mee op het erebalkon.
Danneels was de oudste kardinaal-priester met stemrecht tijdens het conclaaf en mocht zich daarom kardinaal-protopriester noemen.
