Eén uur voor de landing werd het ukje getroffen door een hartstilstand. Een arts die aan boord was, deed nog verschillende pogingen om het kind te reanimeren, maar dat mocht niet baten.
De oorzaak van het hartfalen bij het jongetje is niet bekend.
