Koninklijk bemiddelaar Johan Vande Lanotte heeft aan de koning gevraagd om te worden ontheven van zijn opdracht. De vorst houdt het ontslag in beraad. Albert II zal Vande Lanotte maandag opnieuw ontvangen.
Dadelijk zal Vande Lanotte een verklaring afleggen in de Senaat. Om 18.30 uur geeft ook PS-voorzitter Elio Di Rupo een persconferentie over de politieke toestand.
