Koningin Paola is donderdagmorgen in het UCM Sint-Pieter in Brussel geopereerd aan een goedaardige urologische aandoening. De operatie is goed verlopen en de koningin stelt het goed. Dat meldt het paleis.
De koningin zal enkele dagen in het ziekenhuis verblijven, waarna zij een recuperatieperiode van enkele weken in acht zal nemen, aldus het persbericht.
