Ook zal het land van herkomst op de verpakking staan. Dat stond al op enkele producten zoals rundsvlees en vis, maar wordt nu uitgebreid naar alle vlees, gevogelte en zuivelproducten.
Europarlementslid Ivo Belet is naar eigen zeggen tevreden. "Ik denk dat dit een grote stap vooruit is", aldus de CD&V'er.
