De 20-jarige moslima Joyce Van Op den Bosch eist een schadevergoeding van de Nederlandse winkelketen Hema omdat ze werd ontslagen wegens haar hoofddoek.
De jonge vrouw was een uitzendkracht in de Hema-vestiging van Genk tot haar contract in februari niet meer werd verlengd. De reden was dat ze haar hoofddoek niet wilde afnemen.
Van Op den Bosch zat maandag samen met de socialistische bediendenbond BBTK en besliste om tot juridische stappen over te gaan. De BBTK zal voor haar een procedure opstarten om een schadevergoeding te eisen.
