Kampusch tweehonderd pagina's tellende boek zal de titel '3.096 Tage' dragen, verwijzend naar het aantal dagen dat ze door Priklopil werd vastgehouden.
Het meisje werd in 1998 ontvoerd terwijl ze op weg was naar school. Maar liefst 8 jaar later kon ze ontsnappen. Haar ontvoerder pleegde diezelfde dag nog zelfmoord.
De Duitse filmproducent Bernd Eichinger maakte eerder al bekend een film over Kampusch te willen maken. Die zou in 2012 in de cinema's verwacht worden.
