De Nobelprijs voor Economie 2011 is uitgereikt aan de Amerikanen Thomas J. Sargent en Christopher A. Sims. Dat heeft het Nobelcomité maandag bekendgemaakt.
De twee krijgen de prijs "voor hun empirisch onderzoek naar oorzaak en gevolg in macro-economie", zo luidt het.
