Priklopil hield het meisje acht jaar gevangen in de buurt van de Oostenrijkse hoofdstad Wenen. In 2006 pleegde hij zelfmoord na de ontsnapping van Kampusch.
Zijn vriend Ernst Holzapfel wordt er nu van verdacht op die dag Priklopil te hebben geholpen de politie te ontwijken. Hij staat eind augustus terecht.
