De nieuwe wetgeving zou komende zomer in werking treden. Momenteel mogen autocars, net als vrachtwagens, maximaal 90 kilometer per uur. In buurlanden Duitsland, Frankrijk en Nederland is 100 kilometer per uur toegelaten.
De CD&V'er wil ook het inhaalverbod bij regenweer afschaffen.
