In Genk is het Shoppingcenter I aan de Rootenstraat ontruimd na een brand bij fastfoodketen Quick.
De barnd brak maandagnamiddag uit rond 15 uur. Volgens burgemeester Wim Dries (CD&V) zijn er geen gewonden gevallen. Het winkelcentrum werd wel ontruimd.
De brandweer van Genk is ter plaatse.
"De brand situeert zich in de elektrische installatie. De hulpdiensten
hebben het zekere voor het onzekere genomen en het winkelcentrum
laten ontruimen", aldus Dries.
