Een 53-jarige Belg is afgelopen weekend in de Canadese provincie Newfoundland overleden nadat hij ziek geworden was aan boord van een vliegtuig. Een lijkschouwing moet uitsluitsel brengen over de doodsoorzaak.
Het toestel van Jet Airways was in Newark opgestegen met bestemming Brussel, toen de man plots ziek werd. De vlucht werd afgeleid naar Gander in Newfoundland. Daar werd de man naar het James Paton Memorial Health Centre gebracht, waar hij overleed.
