Exact 85 jaar geleden zag een stoere zeebonk het levenslicht.
Op 17 januari 1929 verscheen namelijk Popeye voor het eerst: de zeebonk die spinazie naar binnenkapt alsof het een lieve lust is en daardoor zo sterk wordt als drie beren.
Popeye is inmiddels 85, maar nog steeds dolverliefd op Olijfje, die in tegenstelling tot de dames in deze fotospecial nogal 'plat van voren' is. (SL)
