Toch is dat wat ene Kiersten Rich deed toen ze in 2011 vaarwel zei tegen haar toenmalige werkgever. Nu is ‘The Blonde Abroad’ een waar Instagram-figuur.

Say “Grilled Cheese!” ?? •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• My last supper in California! It’s time to return to Cape Town after an amazing summer back in the northern hemisphere. I’ve been soaking up my final moments with friends and family here and, honestly, feeling really overwhelmed with emotion. It’s hard to leave little pieces of your heart all over the world. I can’t wait to get back to @meyerofcapetown after 10 weeks apart (long-distance relationships ?), but I’ll be missing my loved ones here. I’ve been navigating the headspace between the “home” you were raised and the “home” you choose. Let’s call it, the long-term travel pickle. lol. I’ll be spending the next week in Texas, then it’s back “home” to South Africa! ?? •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• #innout #california

Once upon a time in China ?? •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• This time three years ago, I took my first trip to China. My friend @tysontravel and I explored the Shaanxi region where we visited the Terracotta Army in Xian and hiked the ”world’s deadliest trail” at Mt Huashan. We also timed our trip to experience the #MidAutumnFestival, one of the most important Chinese festivals, where we celebrated under a full moon and ate our weight in delicious mooncakes (a type of pastry with a golden crust typically filled with red bean or lotus paste). For anyone planning to travel to China, I’ve compiled a list of my top tips for your first trip to the region along with a video that Tyson and I filmed. Check it out!— ?? Another Burn bites the dust )'( •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• I’m back from #BurningMan! My voice is gone, my heart is full and my faith in humanity is restored. I rode a hot pink speedboat through the desert that passed out ice cold coconuts via a remote control island, listened to a “TEDesque Talk” on artificial reef systems that are helping to restore our oceans, and danced, played & laughed my way through one of the most extreme environments on Earth. I’m so grateful for getting to share so many memories with so many awesome humans. Thank you to every single person that contributes to this experience each year through art, gifting, camps, and music. You put in countless hours to create a city for strangers and your passion and love are felt long after we have left. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• #burningman2018

I’ve never really had a clue about my family roots. As far back as I could trace my family tree, I was American. Literally, "Daughters of the Revolution" American (something like 7 generations have lived in the USA!). I no longer have living grandparents and past generations weren't really discussed in my family, so when I learned about genetic testing, I couldn't wait to try it. ? •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• I got a @23andMe Health + Ancestry kit, and a few weeks later, I got my reports back. As it turns out, my ancestry is 99.4% European, which didn't surprise me, but it was mostly of French and German descent, which I hadn't known prior! Learning more about my DNA breakdown inspired me to plan a solo trip to France—something I haven't done in quite a while—to delve a little deeper into French culture. This trip has been a whirlwind of hot summer sun, cobblestone streets, and a better glimpse into a culture that I feel more connected to now than ever! Check out my LINK IN BIO for more about my experience with #23andMe and why I chose to explore France this summer!

Disney kid 4 life ❤️ •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Spent the day with @meyerofcapetown at the Happiest Place on Earth! Being from So Cal, I have been coming to D-Land since I was a kid, so I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve to avoid lines, maintain my sanity and do things a bit differently. For example, did you know there’s a giant indoor theater with 1-hour broadway style shows and even California wine tasting? As for the lines, we hopped between both theme parks and went on 8 rides in 5 hours (might not sound impressive but you know if you’ve ever been during the summer!) I consider it one of my greatest talents in life. Who would be interested in a blog post with my hacks for Disneyland? •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• #disneyland #happiestplaceonearth

SPF every day ☀️ •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Ever since I was little, I've made a big effort to take care of my skin and protect it from harmful UV's. Now that I'm rounding out my 20's, fine lines and aging are also concerns and prevention can be as simple as wearing daily SPF! We might only think about putting sunscreen on when we're headed to the beach or pool, but it's so important to protect your skin each and every day (even in the Winter!) @Olay just released their Regenerist Whip with SPF 25 so you can easily add SPF to your morning routine. It blends with all skin tones, and doesn't leave an oily or sticky residue under your makeup. Daily SPF for the win! I'm so excited to announce the launch of my NEW travel sandals in partnership with @CocobelleSandals! You may have noticed that I have worn the same pair of tan sandals on many of my trips over the years (swipe to see some places I've taken them!) The truth is, I found them about four years ago at a market and, while they were literally falling apart, I loved that they went with every outfit and made packing for trips a breeze. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• I'd been dreaming of designing a similar pair, the perfect "travel sandals," so I partnered with Cocobelle to carefully create a high-quality, lightweight tan sandal that's perfect for female travelers. These beautiful leather sandals are handcrafted in Italy and will last you trip after trip! I'm so incredibly excited to share them with you -- I know you'll love the style, color and comfort they add to any outfit! •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• We will be running a pre-order period starting today through May 15th, so reserve your pair before they're gone! Check out the LINK IN BIO for more information and to order your own pair! ?
