Terwijl 'The Amazing Spider-Man' nog moet uitkomen, wordt nu al een vervolg aangekondigd. De sequel wordt in 2014 verwacht, twee jaar na het eerste luik.
'The Amazing Spider-Man' is een zogenaamde reboot en niet een vervolg op de drie voorgaande films over de superheld met acteur Tobey Maguire en regisseur Sam Raimi.
Andrew Garfield (bekend van 'The Social Network') zal nu Spiderman vertolken, en Marc Webb zit op de regisseursstoel.
