Toen ze 19 jaar was bracht Amy Macdonald haar eerste album 'This is the Life' uit. De plaat sloeg in als een bom. De titelsong 'This Is the Life' werd in vijf Europese landen (waaronder België en Nederland) nummer één.
In 2009 verdween de zangeres even van de voorgrond om in alle rust aan haar tweede album 'A Curious Thing' te werken. De singles 'Don't Tell Me That It's Over' en 'Spark' zijn opnieuw een schot in de roos.
