De vlucht met de Bassie-ballon kwestie was ingekort omdat er niet voldoende wind stond. Op amateurvideobeelden is te zien hoe de ballon bij de landing hard de grond raakt, alvorens weer even omhoog te stuiteren.
"Ik ben gelijk foto's gaan uitdelen aan de samengeschoolde menigte", zegt Bassie na het voorval. "Niks aan de hand. Altijd blijven lachen."
