Het Nederlandse Koningslied, dat al een storm van kritiek moest doorstaan, komt zaterdag binnen op nummer 1 in de Nederlandse Mega Top 50.
Het nummer werd vorige zaterdag nog teruggetrokken door componist John Ewbank, maar maandag besloot het Nationaal Comité Inhuldiging toch vast te houden aan het lied. Vooral de tekst was het mikpunt van veel critici.
Ondanks alle negatieve aandacht belandde het lied binnen enkele uren op de koppositie van de iTunes-hitlijst.
