De Britse regisseur Ridley Scott gaat een nieuwe versie maken van zijn eigen sciencefictionklassieker 'Blade Runner' uit 1982. Het zou geen volledige remake, maar eerder een soort sequel of prequel van Ridley's eigen, 30 jaar oude, film worden.
Producers Broderick Johnson en Andrew Kosove vertelden dat ze het een hele eer vinden om met filmlegende Scott te mogen werken. De twee laten ook nog weten dat het onwaarschijnlijk is dat de inmiddels 69-jarige Harrison Ford opnieuw de hoofdrol zal spelen in Scotts nieuwe film.
