De Truiense regisseur Michael R. Roskam en acteur Matthias Schoenaerts zijn gelauwerd op het zestiende filmfestival van Saint-Jean-de-Luz in Frankrijk, waar voornamelijk debuut- of bijna debuutfilms worden vertoond.
De prijs voor beste film was niet voor 'Rundskop', maar wel voor "Une bouteille à la mer" van Thierry Benesti. Daarin start een Franse vrouw - die in Jeruzalem leeft - correspondentie met een Palestijn.
Roskam kreeg de prijs voor beste regisseur, Schoenaerts die voor beste acteur.
