De komieken plannen een eenmalige televisie-reünie. Het 'speciale programma' werd al ingeblikt, maar zou pas in de herfst voor het eerst te zien zijn op de Britse tv-zender Gold.
In de jaren '80 lanceerden de twee hun carrière met de serie "A bit of Fry and Laurie".
Hugh Laurie maakte intussen naam en faam als dokter House in de gelijknamige Amerikaanse ziekenhuisserie. Fry schopte het dan weer tot documentaire-maker.
