De originele versie van 'Loft' zou te Vlaams zijn voor Nederland. "Nederlanders zijn helemaal niet geïnteresseerd in Vlaamse films", voegt Marc Punt daar nog aan toe.
De Nederlandse misdaadauteur Saskia Noort heeft het scenario van Bart De Pauw herschreven. Erik Van Looy zal de regie voor zijn rekening nemen. Zo blijft de regisseursstoel wel in Vlaamse handen.
De casting van de Nederlandse acteurs is momenteel al volop aan de gang. De remake van 'Loft' zal begin 2011 in Nederland uitkomen.
Voor de Vlaamse 'Loft' trokken 1,2 miljoen mensen naar de bioscoop.
