Televisiestation NDR en de ERU zullen "binnen enkele weken" de knoop doorhakken waar in Duitsland de liedjeswedstrijd zal plaatsvinden. De Duitse Lena Meyer-Landrut haalde dit jaar in Oslo de zege binnen met het liedje 'Satellite'.
Kandidaat-steden zijn de hoofdstad Berlijn, Hamburg, Düsseldorf en Hannover. De halve finales zijn voor 10 en 12 mei gepland, de finale voor 14 mei.
