In Montignies is vrijdagnacht Paul Louka op 74-jarige leeftijd overleden. De artistieke duizendpoot was ooit voorzitter van Sabam, de vereniging van auteurs, componisten en uitgevers.
Naast acteren en schilderen, zong hij ook. Bekende liedjes zijn "Marcinelle", "Un, deux, trois" en "Le veinard et le roi".
Louka vierde zijn debuut in Parijs, in het voorprogramma van zijn goede vriend, de chansonnier Georges Brassens.
