Tijdens de wedstrijd braken rond het stadion de eerste rellen uit tussen aanhangers van de thuisploeg en de politie.
Na de wedstrijd kwam het tot een confrontatie in Sint-Andries bij Brugge. Fans van Club Brugge gooiden met alles wat voor het grijpen lag naar de politie.
Anderlecht won op het veld van Club met 2-1 en pakte zo de landstitel.
