Iets na het halfuur torpedeerde Kevin-Prince Boateng de enkel van Ballack. De Duitser werd minutenlang behandeld, maar moest toch geblesseerd naar de kant.
"We wachten op een officieel bericht van de clubarts van Chelsea en tot die tijd zullen we duimen voor Michael", aldus Oliver Bierhoff, teammanager van de Mannschaft.
De enkel zou niet gebroken zijn. Verdere onderzoeken moeten meer duidelijkheid brengen.
