De Duitse international Mario Gomez (Bayern München) heeft zaterdag tijdens het oefenduel tegen het Werder Bremen van Kevin De Bruyne een blessure aan de rechterenkel opgelopen. De aanvaller moet onder het mes en staat meerdere weken aan de kant, waardoor hij de competitiestart mist. Dat maakte Bayern München maandag bekend.
De Bundesliga wordt over drie weken opnieuw op gang geschoten. Op de eerste speeldag neemt de Rekordmeister het op tegen promovendus Greuther Fürth.
