Reeks 1 begon slecht voor de Italiaan Philippaerts die motorpech had. Desalle kwam zo aan de leiding en stond die niet meer af. Achter de Belg werd wereldkampioen Cairoli nog tweede.
Dezelfde Cairoli won de tweede reeks voor Philippaerts en de Duitser Nagl. Desalle werd vierde waardoor de Grote Prijs van Mantova naar Cairoli ging.
Desalle werd uiteindelijk tweede voor Nagl en De Dycker. Kevin Strijbos kon de eerste manche niet afwerken na een botsing.
