Een grote meerderheid van Europese voetbalclubs wil na 2015 de huidige Europese bekercompetities niet zien veranderen. na een rondvraag bleek dat 75 procent van de leden van de European Club Association ‘zeer tevreden’ is met de huidige competitieformats.
Uefa-voorzitter Michel Platini, de voorzitter van de UEFA, wil de Europa League afschaffen en in de Champions League 64 clubs laten starten.
