David Goffin (ATP-229) heeft zich donderdag niet kunnen plaatsen voor de kwartfinales van het ATP-tornooi in het Indiase Chennai. Hij verloor met tweemaal 7-6 (7/3) van de Zwitser Stanislas Wawrinka (ATP-21).
De 20-jarige Belgische kwalificatiespeler mocht het hardcourt in het voormalige Madras wel met
opgeheven hoofd verlaten.
Hij verloor pas na 1 uur en 56 minuten en in twee tiebreaks van derde reekshoofd Wawrinka (ATP-21).
