Ruben Bemelmans (ATP-194) krijgt de Braziliaan Thiago Alves (ATP-142), het 20ste reekshoofd in de kwalificaties, tegenover zich.
Enkel wie de drie kwalificatierondes weet te winnen, mag naar de hoofdtabel van het laatste grandslamtornooi van het jaar.
