Alena Sidko testte positief na een skiwedstrijd vlakbij Moskou op 26 december.
Volgens de nationale coach Yuri Charkovsky is Sidko niet uit het team gezet vanwege een positieve test, maar wel door haar overwicht.
De langlaufster won vier jaar geleden de bronzen medaille in de individuele sprint op de Olympische Winterspelen in Turijn.
