De Limburgse oud-wielrenner Eric Vanderaerden (51) is woensdagavond aan het hart geopereerd nadat hij onwel was geworden. Dat schrijft Het Nieuwsblad.
Vanderaerden werd woensdagavond meteen naar het ziekenhuis gebracht en geopereerd. Zijn toestand is intussen stabiel.
Door het voorval ontbrak de voormalige groenetruiwinnaar gisteravond op het Gala van de Flandrien.
