Kirsten Flipkens (WTA-74) heeft geen plaatsje veroverd in de halve finales van WTA-tornooi van Luxemburg. De Italiaanse Roberta Vinci (WTA-45) toonde zich te sterk voor de Molse. Het werd 7-6 en 6-1.
In de tweede ronde versloeg Flipkens nog de Française Aravane Rezai (WTA-15), het tweede reekshoofd, met 6-0 en 6-1. De wedstrijd duurde amper 48 minuten.
Vinci neemt het in de halve finales op tegen de Britse Anne Keothavong.
