De Jamaicaanse Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce wint in 10.72 de 100 meter sprint op de WK in Moskou. Het zilver is voor de ivoriaanse Murielle Ahoure, het brons voor de Amerikaanse titelverdedigster Carmelita Jeter.
Voor Fraser-Pryce is het de vierde grote titel. In 2009 was ze al eens wereldkampioene en in 2008 en 2012 veroverde ze olympisch goud.
