De Kazak Maxim Iglinsky heeft Luik-Bastenaken-Luik op zijn naam gezet. De renner van Astana ging achter de Italiaan Vicenzo Nibali aan die lang leek te winnen, maar onder de rode vod kraakte. Achter Iglinsky werd Nibali tweede, Gasparotto derde. Iglinsky volgt Philippe Gilbert op.
